The Founder

Ty Govaars is the founder and editor in chief of Found Elsewhere. Born in California and raised in Texas, she has traveled far and wide for her work in luxury travel (e.g. Marriott Hotels, The Hideaway Report, Ker & Downey Africa) with extended moves to Spain, Australia and South Africa. Ty’s travel know-how has been featured by brands and outlets such as Pinterest, Afar, Yahoo Finance, MSN.com, Bustle, Wendy Perrin, TripAdvisor, Travel Weekly's Luxury Advisor, Mom.com, Wanderable, The Hideaway Report and Spot. She puts her expertise in journalism, photography, design and her laid back luxury aesthetic into Found Elsewhere.

Found Elsewhere is a wanderlust guide for the modern traveler with a focus on slow travel, laid-back family getaways and stunning wild places. We share down to earth travel experiences, without glossing over any of the real life details. Think wonderful discoveries paired with the realities of reaching lesser known locales (most of the time with kids in tow). Our founder has been traveling to remote destinations and well-loved spots seeking out unique hotel stays, design inspiration and unspoiled nature escapes for nearly two decades.

The Shop

Our shop is a travel inspired ecommerce destination with curated items found elsewhere during our travels. We specialize in limited batch collections of beautiful vintage Moroccan rugs, ceramics and textiles from around the world. Find our current collection here.
